The article “Sustainable Development of Univest: Innovations and Practices of Paper Packaging” (authors: Volodymyr Kudryashov, Dmytro Legeyda) was published in the collection “Packaging Industry” on the topic “Sustainability: from packaging design to its recycling”.

Key highlights:

  • Green packaging is not just a trend, but a strategic topic for the industry, supply chain and consumers. Univest is actively implementing solutions for sustainable production, exploring material recycling, reuse and innovative approaches.
  • Achieving carbon neutrality: the company already uses renewable energy for packaging production. A 640 kW solar power plant already provides 40% of its electricity needs. By 2026, this figure is planned to be increased to 100%.
  • New products in 2024: UniLids lids, UniCarton™ cardboard and UniCup™ cups, LightBag transparent paper bags – eco-friendly solutions recognized in international competitions (Food Industry Solutions and Best Packaging in Latvia).

These initiatives with implemented cases confirm Univest’s compliance with the principles of sustainable development and encourage the company to further develop as experts in the production of packaging solutions for the food industry with care for people and the environment.
